Do You Get Stuck in Anger?
Do you get stuck in anger?
Being stuck in anger is generally because we don’t know how to end it.
It is not advisable to continue arguing with someone; it only makes matters worse. Following the mind’s dialogue builds anger and emotions to heightened levels.
Yes, your mind, the ego, wants to defend and conquer, but it only causes further destruction. The sooner you take off your armor the more likely your opponent will lighten up.
See the ego for what it is. An image of yourself that only you can see. But it is a false image, like a mirage. The more you believe in it, the more troubles you will have in life.
Realize, you are not your mind. You must recognize that the emotional chatter you are experiencing is separate from “who you are.”
Deep slow breathing is immediately helpful. Stop and look around you. Watch the mind. See it for what it is. You are here, and the mind, the ego, is there.
Look around at the beauty. Be grateful for who you really are, and for who they are.
Relationships are not always easy but they can improve with continued practice. Give yourself a break and give them a break! You’re both doing the best you can under the circumstances.
