Forgiveness
Forgiveness
Sometimes we want to forgive but there’s something holding us back. It’s our ego. Our ego doesn’t want to let go of the hurt. It doesn’t want to forgive.
The ego wears its own armor and convinces us that to forgive is weak. It wants to be the victor. It wants to convey that it is stronger, tougher, richer, smarter.
What is our ego? It is how we perceive ourselves but it’s not really who we are. It’s simply an ongoing mental, mixed bag of stories.
See your ego for what it is, a ball of energy, always wanting to build and hold on to its righteousness.
Holding on to this phantom image hurts, hinders, and destroys your own joy and well-being.
As long as you allow your ego to hang on, you suffer.
When you realize that your ego is separate from who you really are, which is a pure being, that is the first step toward seeing others with empathy.
Just like you, they are limited. They are human beings, making mistakes and doing the best they can with their own circumstances.
Forgive.
