Lost in Thought Again?
Lost in thought again?
Nearly all of us spend the majority of our time in the mind. Even if it’s not fruitful, we continue. It is the most common human addiction.
If you believe the misconception that you’re connected to your mind, you will continue to pay attention to its stories and get lost in the if’s, but’s, when’s, where’s, why’s, all relating to fictional time.
Not only is it a waste of time, but it leads to a dramatic life full of unwanted emotions.
As you are reading this — stop right now! Intentionally break away from the noise.
For a few minutes take a vacation from the mind.
Make an effort, and direct your awareness to the following
Sit somewhere alone.
Find stillness.
Notice your breath.
Slow everything down.
Listen to soft music.
Look at the sky.
Listen to birds singing.
Touch and feel objects around you and observe their beauty.
Realize this. You always have the option to break away from the useless, ranting mind.
Develop a new perspective. Say to yourself: “I am here. The mind is there.”
