Mind threads
How many times have you caught yourself under pressure, feeling helpless?
You say to yourself, “Why does this always happen to me?”
For many years, I lived this way not realizing where it came from.
I guarantee you; it happens because of this: Some time or another, possibly in the early morning, you may have had a flash of thought about someone in your life and your mind kept rolling along and then it led to a story about someone they are connected with, and then it reminded you of something you are fearing about your future and the longer the stories go on, the more fearful it is for you. As a matter of fact, you reach a level of anxiety that seems uncontrollable.
This causes you to become aggressive or it causes you to want to roll up under the covers. In either case, you’re miserable.
So, what can be done?
All of our feelings come from our thoughts. Most thoughts are fictional and pertain to the unknown future or a dramatized version of the past.
Since you believe and buy into some of those stories you get locked into terror.
Stop the mind chatter by looking at what’s in front of you, right now. Concentrate on that. This brief pause can sometimes be enough to get you back on track.
