Watching the Second Hand
Whenever you are feeling anxious or stressed try this simple exercise. Find a clock or watch with a second hand or set the timer on your phone for one minute.
Now, take a minute to observe the seconds moving from one to the next.
Recognize that at this very second all is well.
If you venture forward or back from this second, you will be out of focus and into tension and chaos. Just focus on each second.
This exercise can help to stop the mind from wandering into the past or future and is a great way to bring yourself into focus and reality.
